CEMAT - Admission test for Commonwealth Executive MBA & MPA Programmes
CEMAT is an entrance test conducted by Indira Gandhi National Open University for admission to the Commonwealth Executive Master of Business Administration (CEMBA) and Commonwealth Executive Master of Public Administration (CEMPA) programmes. These programmes are designed for highly capable and qualified individuals committed to self-development and a higher level of achievement in their professional lives.

These programs are being offered in 4 South Asian Countries i.e. India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka through their respective Open Universities.

The participating institutions are:

  • Indira Gandhi National Open University
  • Allama Iqbal Open University
  • Bangladesh Open University
  • Open University of Sri Lanka



    The Admission Test (CEMAT) is designed to provide an additional dimension of measurement for the selection of candidates. CEMAT is conducted twice a year in the month of June and December.

    Eligibility:


  • Should be a graduate of a recognized university in India or aboard or have equivalent professional qualification
  • Have a minimum two years of post qualification work experience at the supervisory or management level
  • Be a resident of India or a Commonwealth country
  • Satisfactory score on the CEMBA/CEMPA admission test

    Core Courses:

    The CEMBA and CEMPA programmes has the following Core Courses:
  • C-1 Management Information Systems
  • C-2 Management in Organisations
  • C-3 Managing Human Resources
  • C-4 Operations Management
  • C-5 Economic Environment of Business
  • C-6 Public Systems Management
  • C-7 Quantitative Techniques
  • C-8 Marketing Management
  • C-9 Accounting & Finance for Managers

    Elective Courses:

    The CEMBA and CEMPA programmes has the following Elective Courses:
  • E-1 Electronic Commerce
  • E-2 Project Management
  • E-5 Managerial Economics
  • E-7 Policy Analysis and Implementation
  • E-8 Contemporary Administrative Systems
  • E-9 Disaster Management
  • E-10 Corporate Finance
  • E-13 International Marketing

    Specialist Compulsory courses

    Each programme has two specialist compulsory courses.
  • For CEMBA programme :
    * Public Policy
    * Development Planning and Administration

  • For the CEMPA programme:
    * Strategic Management
    * Quality Assurance Management

    To qualify for the award of a CEMBA/CEMPA degree, you are required to take eight of the nine courses from the list of Core Courses, the two Specialist Compulsory Courses relevant to their Award, three courses from the list of Elective Courses, and the two required courses for a total of 15 courses.
